The springs in Saratoga Springs, New York have fascinating histories tied to the area's development as a health and wellness destination in the 18th and 19th centuries. Each spring often acquired its name from notable people, locations, or characteristics.
One of the earliest discovered springs in Saratoga, High Rock Spring was a key player in putting Saratoga Springs on the map as a health and wellness destination. It is also notable for the large rock formation that covers the spring, which is where it gets its name. The spring’s mineral-rich water, particularly its sodium bicarbonate content, made it popular for digestive issues and overall health.
Discovered in 1767, High Rock Spring was the first major spring to be developed and opened to the public. It was particularly revered for its high mineral content and effervescent properties, which were believed to promote health and vitality.
The spring was originally used by Native Americans who believed in its healing properties. Later, European settlers, including George Washington, are rumored to have visited and drank from High Rock Spring. The water was so popular that it was also bottled and shipped throughout the country.

Burn time: 45+ hours (8oz.)
Disclosure: Our candles are meticulously crafted by hand, and therefore, they may be subject to slight variations in appearance. Being natural, our soy wax can display slight differences as well.
How to use:
To prevent tunneling, burn until the entire surface has turned to liquid wax before extinguishing.
Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to about 5mm and remove any debris.
Burn on a flat surface and periodically turn the candle to ensure an even burn pool.
Always burn within sight.
Extinguish the candle if it repeatedly smokes or the flame becomes too high, let it cool, re-align and trim the wick.
Avoid burning your candle all the way to the bottom of the vessel. Leave approximately 1cm of wax and extinguish.
Burn in a wind/fan free area. The flame should be still and pointed upwards to ensure even heat distribution and melting.
Store in a climate controlled environment.
Never pour candle wax down your drain. Keep this in mind if you clean out your vessel for re-purposing or recycling.
Don’t leave unattended.
Keep away from flammable objects.
Keep away from children and pets.
Don’t burn for more that 4 hours at a time.
